CSA CPD - Creating the Space to Name the Influence of Racial Power in Coaching Supervision

The impact of racial oppression has just recently been raised in critical research related to coaching and coaching supervision. A small focus group of white male coaches identified gaps related to the impact of race in coaching relationships in their initial coach training and subsequent professional development opportunities. Addressing this gap is why this webinar is important.

The intention of this webinar is to create a place to explore how coaching supervision can support coaches in racialized spaces. We will reflect on a case study from the perspectives of our own racial identity, systemic oppression, and colour-blindness. The intention is to leave the webinar with a deeper awareness of the intersection of our self-awareness and awareness of how racism impacts the coach / client relationship.

Something that few people know about me! I have run 8 full marathons and, in the process, learned how my thinking and feeling influences every step of the way. Today I hold this to be true in coaching and supervision.

My passion as an Executive Coach, Mentor Coach and Coach Supervisor is to support coaches in the development that they choose for themselves. My intention is to create open space that is person centered, thoughtful, respectful of cultures, diversity, and the individual’s goals and recognizes the influence of historical and current systemic influences on the person.
