Talking Together:Dr Alison Hodge and Edna Murdoch focus on Groups and Group Behaviour |
Episode 1 |
Episode 2 | Taking supervision into the great outdoors Our second conversation is about taking groups of coaches out of the office, or out of the rooms where we normally talk, and into the great outdoors (or into public places such as museums or galleries). I’ve been supervising groups in this way as part of my practice for the past year. Edna and I discuss what I’ve learned, and the quality of work that comes from it. In the video, Edna responds to Alison's observations with a wonderful insight: ‘There’s almost a relief of being able to let go of the literal, of the models, of our usual, habitual terrain. Anything to do with the imagination and with metaphor, with the whole metaphysical way of looking at ourselves in our work, somehow just gives us so much more scope, and seems so much more rich.’ |
Episode 3 | Developing better ways of working In this third conversation, we share our thoughts about developing a way of working, and a way of being with your client, that is different, deeper and more exploratory, and thus more developmental both for you as a coach and for your client as a leader. We also talk about what coaching supervision is, how it can be powerful for the life and practice of coaching, and how it can be joyous, ‘because a conversation about learning is joyous’. In the video, Edna observes that in supervision, ‘we’re really grounding and slowing people down, inviting them into a process that’s waiting to happen, and giving them time to think about what is happening’. Get a cuppa and listen in to a fascinating conversation! |
Episode 4 | Reflections on an extraordinary time Join Alison Hodge and Edna Murdoch as they explore the personal and professional implications of being ‘slowed down to the speed of life’. They consider how to maintain balance at a time of both generosity and trauma, of beauty and fear. And they encourage intentional nourishment during this enforced retreat. |
